Biography

Bree Grealis is a Nurse-Midwife and board-certified Lactation Consultant with her MSN from Frontier Nursing University and her BSN from Minnesota State University. With over two decades of diverse roles as a nurse and then a nurse-midwife beginning in the Peace Corps in Nepal for over 2 years and then working in labor and delivery units in CO, AZ, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and CT, she has brought her passion for her work to each location.
Now as an associate professor of nursing at CT State Northwestern Community College and a clinical preceptor for Yale School of Nursing, Bree infuses this passion into her teaching in the classroom, lab, and clinicals. Her labor support classes for both parents and birth workers focus on trauma-sensitive care and the use of movement to enhance the labor process, which highlights her innovative approach to healthcare. She has found her cause in writing a booklet to aid labor and delivery nurses by adding tools to their toolbox for the prevention of C-Sections and the promotion of faster labor. She hopes to adapt this book for parents and obstetric residents. This work keeps her energized and unstuck.
