Objective: This research was conducted in a qualitative research model for the evaluation of life perceptions of patients with stroke.
Materials and Methods: The universe of the study consisted of 10 patients who were hospitalized in a neurology clinic of a state hospital in Central Anatolia between 24.09.2014 and 30.12.2014. To collect data were used in-depth interviews. In this study, data were gathered by interviews face-to-face with the semi-structured in-depth interview method developed by the researchers in the direction of their goals. In-depth interviews were conducted by researchers for 15-45 minutes.
Results: At the end of the study patients with stroke expressed their opinions about the social conditions such as the difficulties of the use of physical force at the highest level, to be provided of the adequate nutrition, to be helped to personal hygiene and self-care, not to be alone, in the current situation which cases will occur in the future as, sense of security, housing status, health insurance, opportunity of changing residence as well as social and daily living activities, receive support from others and privacy.
Conclusion: As a result of the research, it was found that the patients were in difficulties in receiving medication and adequate nutrition. It is thought that the education provided by the nurses will be effective in acquiring healthy living forms and increasing the quality of life.
